The Association has advocated Congress to adopt this legislative action plan that proposes tough, effective measures to stop waste, fraud and abuse in Medicare's home medical equipment sector.

  • The American Association for Homecare’s Medicare Anti-Fraud Legislative Plan proposes 13 tough, targeted recommendations to stop fraud and abuse in the homecare sector.
  • This bold legislative action plan targets the source of the problem—stopping fraud and abuse where it starts in the system.
  • This preventative plan is designed to stop fraud in the system BEFORE it starts, saving taxpayers’ millions of dollars in criminal prosecution.
  • The Association is advocating Congress and regulators to enact the tough, effective measures outlined in this plan to combat Medicare fraud.
  • The Association and its members want to work together with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to fight fraud and abuse.
  • This plan would eliminate most of the Medicare fraud attributed to the home medical equipment sector.
  • This proactive solution is far more effective than unnecessary Medicare cuts or price controls (such as so-called “competitive” bidding) to the homecare medical equipment sector that only harm patients and seniors.
  • This action plan is a tangible demonstration of our homecare providers’ commitment to stopping fraud and abuse in the homecare sector.
