Stand Up for Homecare
When you Stand Up for Homecare, you are supporting our efforts to promote a positive image of homecare, raise public awareness of homecare’s many benefits, and spur people to take action against harmful policies like Medicare’s bidding program.
There are a lot of ways to make your voice heard:
- Donate to the campaign.
- Attend the fundraising reception at Medtrade Spring.
- Contact your members of Congress.
- Write letters to the editors of your local newspapers.
- Tweet about the issues.
- Post your opinions on Facebook.
- Upload a short video on YouTube.
Donate
Every voice needs to be heard, and every contribution helps the cause. Whether you have a personal interest in affordable, accessible, quality homecare, or you’re a company that serves the homecare market, you can help by donating to the campaign. The campaign is run completely on donations, so your support is critical to its success. Donate now through Paypal, or call Ashley Wyatt at 703-535-1880.
Attend Our Fundraising Reception
Our most important fundraisers are the Stand Up for Homecare receptions at Medtrade in the spring and fall. For as little as $150, you’ll receive a ticket to the biggest networking event in the homecare community. Rub elbows with key leaders, hear the latest news concerning homecare, and enjoy a relaxing evening with food, drinks, and good conversation in one of Las Vegas’ most beautiful hotels. Register now and join us on April 10 at 5:30pm in the Venetian.
Your Donations at Work
In 2011, we:
- reached more than 10 million Americans with articles in newspapers and magazines, print ads, letters to the editor, and radio spots.
- expanded our grassroots network and capacity by investing in new software and signing up nearly 1,500 homecare advocates who have generated thousands of messages to Congress from more than 40 states.
- logged more than 600 complaints from patients, providers, and clinicians about Round One of the Medicare bidding program through a toll-free operator-staffed phone line.
