State Leaders Council

The mission of AAHomecare's State Leaders Council is to:

  • Provide a forum for state association executives and their leaders to share legislative and regulatory developments in their states and learn how other states have addressed similar issues

  • Provide a forum for understanding and engaging in the broad industry advocacy strategy and manage an effective grassroots outreach to advance national priorities

  • Coordinate lobbying and grassroots efforts to support legislative and regulatory initiatives on the federal and state level

  • Identify and develop state legislative and regulatory priorities that sub-group(s) may form to explore

  • Advise the AAHomecare Board of Directors on priority needs from the grassroots level

  • Provide industry and association professional development through joint educational programs

Council activities include:

  • Sponsors a list-serve on state legislative/regulatory developments and state association information requests.

  • Conducts regularly scheduled calls to coordinate federal legislative advocacy and grassroots initiatives.

  • Shapes AAHomecare's position on Medicaid competitive bidding.

  • Provides state-specific information on Medicaid, HME licensure, and other state homecare issues.

Council Membership

Council membership is open to two representatives from each state/regional association that is a member of AAHomecare, chosen by the member association.
