How often do you exercise your First Amendment rights? As Americans, we have the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances, so if something the government is doing is making your life difficult as a home medical equipment manufacturer, supplier, prescriber, or user, join us on Capitol Hill!
Before you even arrive in Washington, D.C., we'll work with you to schedule the right appointments. Once you get here, you'll have access to homecare's top experts, who will help you understand the details of the key issues during a day-long series of seminars at the beautiful Omni Shoreham hotel. We'll also provide tips on the best ways to establish working relationships with your members of Congress, give you handouts to leave behind in Hill offices after your appointments, and then follow-up with those offices to reinforce your message.
The 2013 AAHomecare Washington Legislative Conference was an unqualified success! Homecare advocates made more than 300 visits to their Representatives and Senators on Capitol Hill. They've built tremendous momentum by garnering cosponsors for H.R. 1717, the Medicare DMEPOS Market Pricing Program Act of 2013, and getting cosigners on the letter that Reps. Glenn Thompson and Bruce Braley sent to CMS Administrator Tavenner.
There is still plenty of work to do. Use our Action Center to send an email to your member of Congress. You can also call them, and meet with them when they are home in your district. Every action taken gets the homecare community one step closer to resolving some of the problems that are plaguing our businesses.
If you would like to download the documents that were handed out at the Conference, follow the links below. These documents will help you to understand the issues in-depth, and you can also send them to your representatives to convince them to support homecare.
Special thanks to our sponsors and exhibitors. Their generous support of the 2013 AAHomecare Washington Legislative Conference allowed us to hold down registration costs and helps more HME advocates to participate.
