AdaptHealth Acquires McKesson PCS Division
Last week, AdaptHealth announced it was purchasing McKesson’s provider business, Patient Care Solutions (PCS).
In their announcement, AdaptHealth CEO Luke McGee noted that the acquisition would “add urological and ostomy products to our already comprehensive HME product portfolio, and significantly increase our exposure in areas such as wound care, breast pumps, incontinence supplies, and diabetic care.”
Josh Parnes, President & COO of AdaptHealth added, “As part of the transaction, we are also very pleased to expand our existing distribution relationship with McKesson. The acquisition of PCS complements our existing PAP (sleep) resupply offering and will allow us to provide an expanded set of supplies to both the current customers of PCS and AdaptHealth.”
“This move to sell their consumer-facing operations will allow McKesson to expand its role as distributor for the HME industry,” remarked Tom Ryan, AAHomecare President & CEO. “At the same time, AdaptHealth will be able to share their company’s high level of experience and commitment to service with an even larger patient cohort.”
“I’m excited to see both of these forward-thinking companies working together to grow their investment in the HME sector,” continued Ryan. “I think this news is another indicator of the opportunity that lies ahead for the industry.“
